Women's Car Insurance News
Women's online car buying Survey
Online car sales web site Autobytel, recently surveyed results of one thousand drivers to their e-store. The women and men who responded to the online questionnaire, revealed some intriguing online buying habits as follows:
- 22% of women prefer to purchase their new car online
- 75% of men prefer to purchase their new car online
Autobytel belongs to the giant motor retailer the Inchcape Group. Spencer Lock,
Inchcape Retail's managing director, said: "Our survey shows the web complements
the physical car buying experience provided by the dealer".
He added, "The extra security offered by purchasing a car online through one of the UK’s largest car retailers
is obviously a key plus point as Autobytel is selling hundreds of cars online
each month".
The survey clearly shows a preference for men to purchase their cars online. However, women
can still benefit from visiting a traditional dealer to meet all of their new car buying needs.
Women's car insurance however, is very much tailor-made for the fairer sex by some online companies. Sheila's Wheels and Diamond
Car Insurance, advertises directly to women and offers them enhanced rates.
Insurers targeting women are prepared to offer lower premiums as women are
seen as a lower risk when it comes to being involved in an accident. Price
comparison sites can look at these gender specific insurance products and
sift out the cheapest on offer.
